Smarter Contracts achieves ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications

Smarter Contracts, a privacy technology company that helps businesses and their customers take more control over their data via their patent pending data privacy and consent management platform - Pulse, have achieved their ISO 27001 and ISO9001 certifications. The achievement marks a major milestone on the maturity curve of the business. The two international standards were awarded in recognition of the company’s information security and quality management systems.

ISO 27001 is the leading international standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and was awarded to Smarter Contracts after they underwent a formal, third-party audit. The audit is designed to verify that existing controls, processes and procedures meet the required security standards covering confidentiality, integrity of information assets and legal compliance. In achieving its ISO 27001 certification, Smarter Contracts clients can be certain that a culture of operational security and compliance runs inherently throughout the business.

ISO 9001 is the leading international standard for Quality Management Systems. After a second third-party audit review, this was awarded to Smarter Contracts for their quality management systems in Software System Design, Software Development, Quality Assurance, Documentation, Implementation, Systems Integration, Post Implementation Support, Training and Development.

James Radley, Chief Technology Officer of Smarter Contracts comments,“ Achieving our ISO certifications was non-negotiable for the Smarter Contracts team. We’re now scaling off the back of the growing demand for Pulse, our data privacy and consent management platform, so it would be contradictory for us to advise our customers about the power of Pulse for data management, if we were not able to demonstrate our own commitment towards data excellence. I’m incredibly proud that the company has achieved this milestone and very proud of the teams’ efforts getting us to this point.”

In achieving both ISO certifications, Smarter Contracts have demonstrated that they are embedding the highest standards of operational excellence throughout the business, while showing a commitment to continual improvement of its people, their products and the future needs of their clients.

Neelam Patel, Chief delivery Officer of Smarter Contracts comments, “The accreditation process itself, for both of these ISO certification subject areas, has driven our ability to operate to higher standards. The team can already recognize that our efforts in achieving these certifications has already taken our organisation to a whole new level, setting improved benchmarks that we will all keep improving on, while giving our clients an extra level of confidence when working with us.”

As part of their efforts to achieve their ISO certifications, Smarter Contracts made the decision to work with Assured Clarity, an Allowlist preferred supplier who support organisations in achieving international standards and regulatory compliance in relation to information security and data protection.

Carolyn Harrison, Managing Director of Assured Clarity comments; “What we have learned from the auditors is that Smarter Contracts have implemented standards that they have not seen anywhere else, whilst they are also implementing processes and procedures more robust than much larger organisations. That really demonstrates the level that they are operating at so early in their evolution and should provide their current and future clients with the peace of mind that they are in good hands.
